If you’re like us, you’re always on the hunt for the next big thrill to Netflix and chill. Our go-to resource for new finds is Refinery29. They have the inside track on the latest releases and it’s always on point.

And for all the sophisticated femmes out there wondering what to watch, we’ve pooled our own faves below.

Billions: Literally one of the top faves around here. Some deeper concepts that may take a rewatch, but so worth it. And don’t forget to stash away some of these one-liner nuggets, like…

If you don’t take risks, you’ll always work for someone who does.

Meaning matters more to me than happiness.

The greats never sacrifice the important for the urgent. They handle the immediate problem and still make sure to secure the future.

Succession: Very well scripted with amazing humor. Basically the show in a nutshell:

“Look, here’s the thing about being rich, it’s like being a superhero, only better. You get to do what you want. The authorities can’t really touch you. You get to wear a costume, but it’s designed by Armani and it doesn’t make you look like a prick.”

Ozark: An easy one to watch and zone out, with a decent plot and storylines. Plus Jason Bateman…when did he get so sexy?

Killing Eve: BBC never fails, and neither do the two main characters. Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer’s on-screen sexual chemistry and tension are #goals.

If you love the above, you’ll love these older series:

House of Cards: You can’t beat a powerhouse character like Claire Underwood. We watch just for the aspirational factor alone.

Damages: Anything Meryl Streep is a win in our books.

Big Little Lies: A nice drama with some A-list stars and a charming little murder mystery.

Homeland: This series ebbs and flows but some seasons are a knockout. Great for anyone that likes some thrill with a side of spy.

The Fall: A great thriller option with good acting and what we like to call “real” characters.

If you’re looking for some laughs, here’s a few options to lighten the mood:

Schitt’s Creek: Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past year (and we wouldn’t blame you), then you know about this one. But we just had to include.

Workin’ Moms: A product of Canadian television…why do our friends to the north always do it better? Pretty much every woman (but especially mamas) can relate to some concept in this show, and yet get a few kicks at the same time.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: A great series to come out of Amazon Prime, and perhaps the one to put them on the original streaming map. Uncertain about future series, but we’re here for it. If you’re looking for mother-daughter topics to discuss, this show is a great option.

Curb Your Enthusiasm: For those that say this show is cringeworthy, I’m not sure we can be friends. It’s funny in the best way, and everyone has a Larry David in their lives. New series is slated for this year…the man just keeps coming back and we’re here for it!

with love,

Amy Abt
